Please join me on September 28 at the Eaglewood Resort and Spa in Itasca, IL for this year’s Annual Meeting and Educational Seminar: 3D Printing and Watchmaking.

James “Jim” Fuhrman will be the instructor for this year’s seminar. Mr. Fuhrman is the Coordinator of Manufacturing Technology at John Wood Community College in Quincy, IL. He has worked in manufacturing for sixteen years. During this time he has gained experience in most aspects of the manufacturing field, from welding to design engineering. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Phoenix, and is a lifelong resident of Quincy, IL.

Mr. Fuhrman will cover the following topics during the presentation:

  • The use of Solidworks. A CAD solid modeling software used to design an object for 3D printing.
  • A 3D scanner will be used to demonstrate the scanning of objects for 3D printing.
  • Two 3D printers will be used to demonstrate the printing of two watchmaking tools designed by Vice President Wesley Simmons.
  • Each participant will take home a tool printed during class.

Registration is available online for the first 30 club members to sign up and pay the $150.00 registration fee. Payment must be made by credit card at the time of registration. The seminar will begin at 8 am and conclude at 3 pm. The Business Meeting is open to all members and will start immediately following the seminar.

I look forward to seeing you there.
